## Canonical thesis
A fashion house may continue culturally after its operating company closes through objects, marks, debts, contracts, archives, people, methods, images, and contested memory—but none automatically stays together.

## Complete editorial sequence
Closure is not disappearance. Inventory may enter liquidation or private hands; trademarks and copyrights may be sold or expire; domains and accounts may lapse; employees and contractors may retain knowledge; museums may hold garments; creditors, customers, licensees, and collaborators may have unresolved claims; and journalists or communities may preserve a story the company cannot control. The legal path varies by entity, transaction, insolvency, contract, jurisdiction, and asset.

A responsible closure record distinguishes operation from afterlife. It documents who had authority, what obligations were resolved or remain, where assets moved, which licenses survived, what records were preserved, who may answer corrections, and how the public should describe discontinuity. Public collections can preserve objects without reviving the company. A successor label can acquire assets without inheriting trust or complete history.

### 01 · CLOSE — What ended and when?
Record entity, business operation, employment, production, sales, licenses, domains, accounts, premises, and public announcement separately with authoritative dates.

Evidence: PROPOSAL · S35, S39

### 02 · DISTRIBUTE — Where did assets and obligations go?
Track inventory, samples, cash, debt, contracts, marks, copyrights, data, domains, archives, equipment, and records by governing transaction and custodian.

Evidence: INFERENCE · S49, S55, S63

### 03 · REMEMBER — Who preserves the history?
Map museums, archives, former workers, collaborators, customers, press, communities, and collectors with rights, privacy, correction, and provenance boundaries.

Evidence: PROPOSAL · S15, S25, S65

### 04 · NAME — How should later work describe continuity?
Distinguish revival, license, acquisition, homage, research, exhibition, successor, and unrelated reuse; attach the evidence for every relationship claim.

Evidence: PROPOSAL · S28, S93

## Counterargument
Institutional afterlife can preserve culture or become a market for nostalgia stripped of workers, creditors, and contested history. No archive should turn closure into a frictionless legend.

## Reader fieldwork
1. Create a dated closure map across operation, people, obligations, assets, and records.
2. Trace every claimed successor asset to a transaction or mark unresolved.
3. Invite former participants to correct the public chronology.
4. Review insolvency, corporate, labor, contract, IP, privacy, and tax issues with qualified professionals.

## External production dependencies
Recorded performance, bespoke RN photography, participant releases, and counsel or specialist review are separate human-led productions. The editorial edition does not present them as finished recordings, permissions, or professional opinions.
