## Canonical thesis
Founder voting or board control can shape who appoints leaders and approves major corporate acts, but it cannot guarantee truthful archives, good design, worker voice, or permanent cultural legitimacy.

## Complete editorial sequence
“Founder-controlled” is often treated as shorthand for an intact story. Public filings show a narrower reality: stock classes, voting percentages, board powers, employment roles, contractual duties, and disclosure obligations describe different mechanisms. Ralph Lauren’s annual report and proxy provide one public-company example; Delaware General Corporation Law §141 supplies the board-authority frame for Delaware corporations. Neither source establishes a universal fashion governance model.

Narrative control operates through additional systems: archives, publicity approvals, access to records, commissioned histories, account administration, image licenses, succession choices, and correction practices. Formal control may preserve a long horizon or allow one vision to resist quarterly pressure. It may also suppress dissent, conceal collaborators, block necessary change, or make the institution dependent on one person’s memory. The responsible map keeps governance fact, editorial inference, and legitimacy judgment separate.

### 01 · VOTE — What does the vote actually reach?
Record security class, votes per share, ownership date, agreements, transfer limits, quorum, reserved matters, and the exact filing. Do not convert disclosed voting power into a claim about every creative decision.

Evidence: VERIFIED · S36, S37

### 02 · BOARD — Who directs the corporation?
For a Delaware corporation, inspect certificate, bylaws, board composition, committee and delegation records with §141. Founder status alone is not a board rule.

Evidence: VERIFIED · S52

### 03 · STORY — Which systems shape public memory?
Map archive access, approval language, publicity, account control, historian or curator independence, contributor correction, and disputed records separately from corporate votes.

Evidence: INFERENCE · S08, S39, S50

### 04 · CONSTRAINT — Who can challenge the controller?
Identify independent directors, contractual rights, worker and collaborator channels, law, fiduciary review, press scrutiny, archive policy, and correction routes without assuming any is effective in a particular company.

Evidence: PROPOSAL · S36, S37, S52

## Counterargument
Founder control can protect experimentation and continuity; it can also preserve error and concentrate the power to describe other people’s labor. Control is neither virtue nor vice without facts, process, dissent, and outcome.

## Reader fieldwork
1. Map voting, board, executive, creative, economic, and archive authority separately.
2. Attach one exact governing record to every formal power claim.
3. Identify who can contest the public story and how correction enters the archive.
4. Run departure, incapacity, acquisition, deadlock, and misconduct scenarios with counsel.

## External production dependencies
Recorded performance, bespoke RN photography, participant releases, and counsel or specialist review are separate human-led productions. The editorial edition does not present them as finished recordings, permissions, or professional opinions.
